Guitarist, composer and producer and founder of Afrofraktal Music, Muata25, aka Thomas 'Blast' Murray, is musician who creates alluring complexities. An aggressive experimentalist, he uses polyrhythms and lush tonalities to craft hypnotic soundscapes.
Influenced by Sun Ra, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and Ornette Coleman, he is planted in the fertile cultural soil of Afro-Futurism. Utilizing abstract rhythms, quirky sonic mosaics and polytonal melodicisms, he creates an idiosyncratic lyricism that is beautifully strange.
He has played with the Tom Tom Club, Eurythmics and Tom Tom Club, Eurythmics amongst others.
